Free food pantries, groceries and meals Orange County and Orlando Florida.

A number of food banks in Orange County as well as the city of Orlando Florida serve the needy in the community. The centers, which can be run by churches and other local charities, are primarily food pantries  though some do have soup kitchens on site. Depending on the location they can have offerings such as free food, groceries, hygiene items, holiday meal boxes, and possibly such items as clothing or small household items. In addition, many Orange County Florida food banks will also offer meals or bag lunches for those who need additional support. An additional focus is on the the homeless in the region.

Every year thousands of families, senior citizens, and individuals receive assistance from the food pantries in Orange County listed below. The centers are also a great place to learn about a wide variety of other programs and resources that may be available for the low income. You can oftentimes receive help in applying for additional programs too, such as SNAP food stamps, government insurance, or meals for your child at school. Salvation Army Of Orange County Administration - The local Salvation Army has two locations in the Orlando and Orange County area. A food pantry is on site, as well as thrift stores. They also offer case management and information on state and federal government programs, such as TANF. Other resources are the holiday meals, including free Thanksgiving turkeys as well as Christmas food, gifts, and toys. Programs are open to any Orange County Florida individual who needs assistance.
